Alethea Marie Freeman was born in Wilmington, NC, January 21, 1957 to Lawerence and Elizabeth B. Freeman.  Alethea moved to Charlotte, NC at the age of twenty-one, where she was a resident until her passing.

Alethea attended and graduated from New Hanover High School in 1975.  She went on to attend Winston Salem State University, where she met the love of her life and later married Marvin Jerome Jackson.  Alethea worked many jobs as a Department Supervisor.  She was currently employed at First Union, now Wells Fargo, in the Annuities Department

Alethea enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and playing games.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Marvin J. Jackson and her father Lawerence H. Freeman.

She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Elizabeth B. Freeman, three sisters Ernestine Freeman, Minnie Freeman and Elizabeth R. Freeman, uncle, Jospeh Pina, aunts, MaryLee Chapman and Vanilla Heath, step-daughter, Erica Cuthbertson, step-grandson, Jalien Byers (Kamren), brother-in-law’s, Michael Jackson, Victor Ward, sister-in-law’s, Diane Ward, Wanda Houston (Chavis), nieces, Meshea Davis, Ki’Anda, Ki’Tria and Alexis Freeman, nephews, Mario Freeman and Ki’Quan Freeman, goddaughter, Myicha Drakeford, heart-son, Lamar McCutched, best friend, Antoinette Drakford, and a host of great nieces, nephews and friends.
