Miss Destinee Michelle Abraham, 26, of Hope Mills, NC. passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2019 in Durham, NC.Memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 18,2019 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church 7237 Tuckaseegee Rd. Charlotte, NC 28214. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the Memorial Service will follow at 12:00pm Destinee’ Michelle Abraham was born March 31, 1993, to Dexter and Kimberly Abraham in Charlotte, North Carolina. She departed this life and received her wings on Monday, June 10, 2019. She was preceded in death by her late paternal grandfather Edwin R. Abraham, maternal grandfather Edmond Sampson and Aunt Deanna A. Hoover. Destinee’ was reared in Charlotte, NC, where she attended Montclaire Elementary and Kennedy Middle School. She was an active, fun-loving and precocious child with knowledge and maturity beyond her years. She was a student at Ms. Donna’s Dance School for over 10 years, where her love for artistic expression was formed. Her love for dance led her to become a cheerleader. Destinee’ attended Olympic High School, graduating with Honors in June 2011. She was a member of the National Honors Society, and a committed member of the Trojans Cheerleading team for the entire four years of her high school journey. Destinee’ was accepted into Winston Salem State University where she lived in the Honors Dorm and continued her love for cheering as a WSSU Ram. At the time of her unfortunate passing, Destinee’ was a student in the Nursing program at Fayetteville Tech Community College. Destinee’s passion, love and commitment to mankind were evident in the career path she chose. Not only was Destinee’ pursuing a career in Nursing, she was also a caregiver for the elderly and had been hired to work at a rehabilitation center in Hope Mills, NC, one week before her passing. She had a kind heart and always wanted others to be treated with love, respect and dignity. Destinee’ was always full of life and made a statement wherever she went. Her vibrant personality led to Destinee’ building lifelong relationships with classmates, coworkers and friends. Her charisma and charm stole the hearts of all who knew her. Destinee’ was strong-willed, independent and tenacious. She was determined to reach her goals and dreams her way. Destinee’ will always be remembered for her perseverance. She will forever be etched in our hearts. Destinee’ leaves to cherish fond memories; her Father and Mother Dexter and Kimberly Abraham of Hope Mills, NC, and brother Dexter Abraham Jr. (DJ) of Charlotte, NC. Maternal grandmother Claudine Chavis affectionately known as “Ma Ma” of Hope Mills, NC. Paternal grandmother Ruth Abraham affectionately known as “Ma Ruth” of Charlotte NC, Two uncles, Derwin Abraham (Shirley) of Durham, NC , Edmond “Jerry” Locklear of Lumberton, NC., Two Aunts Desiree’ Johnson of Charlotte, NC and Deirdre Campbell of Oviedo, Florida and a host of aunts, uncles cousins, special relatives and friends. |
