Mr. Arthur Ross, Sr. of Charlotte, NC, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at Atrium Health Main Charlotte.Memorial service will be held Friday, June 21,2019 at C.N.Jenkins Presbyterian Church 1421 Statesville Ave. Visitation will begin at 2:30 pm and the service will follow at 3:00 pm. Military rites will take place after the service. In Lieu of Flowers, contribution can be made to the following.

The Lord called our father, Arthur Ross, home on June 10, 2019, to rejoin the heavenly host. He
was born December 14, 1936, in Charlotte, North Carolina, son of Henry and Minnie Ross. He
was the sixth of six children. He graduated high school in 1955, the first class of graduates
from West Charlotte Senior High School’s brand-new facility.

He joined the US Navy and served a four-year enlistment, before rethinking his priorities and
joining the US Air Force. In one of his early assignments he met, and fell in love with Glenda
Roberts, of Brooklyn, New York. Their union would prove fruitful, successfully raising a family of four loving children, Art, Jr., Brock, Catrina, and DeAnna.

Retiring from service to country in 1977, after eight assignments, and as many moves, including a combat tour in Vietnam, Arthur brought his family back to his hometown of Charlotte.

Arthur continued working for various enterprises in and around Charlotte, finally retiring from all
gainful employment in February 2003.

As a father, Art was a model of quiet strength, supporting his family in all their endeavors,
supporting them when they needed it, and dispensing advice as situations required.
Arthur was preceded in this life by his wife of forty years, the former Glenda Joyce Roberts, his
brothers Paul and Isom, and his sisters Lucy Dell and Janie Mae. He is survived by his sister
Louise, his children, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins,
nieces, and nephews, and innumerable friends.
