Mr. George Wesley Morgan 79, of Charlotte,NC passed away Tuesday, January 15,2019 at Novant Health Main Charlotte, NC. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 22,2019 at Mowing Glade AME Zion Church 8951 Albemarle Rd. Charlotte, NC 28227. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. Military rites and Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery West.4601 Freedom Dr. Charlotte, NC 28216.In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society of Greater Charlotte 1901 Brunswick Ave Suite 100 Charlotte, NC 28207 (704)552-6147. A Time To Be Born: George Wesley Morgan was born August 24, 1939 to the late Atlas and Lillie Bell Morgan in Charlotte, NC. A Time To Build: George graduated from J.H. Gunn High School in 1957, attended CPCC and received an Associate Degree in Auto Body Repairs. He served two years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed by the Federal Reserve Bank in the Security Department and retired after many years of service. After retiring he enjoyed his hobbies: fishing, listening to music, especially Bobby Womack, watching boxing programs, gardening and restoring antique cars. George Wesley Morgan should be remembered as a renaissance man. His kind and gentle spirit was reflected in his daily living. George would want all those near and dear to him to remember him in that manner. He lived his life with grace, dignity, and humility. A Time To Be Saved: George loved the Lord and his real joy came in serving as an ambassador for Christ. As a member of Mowing Glade A.M.E. Zion Church he served as Treasurer for 34 years, played the guitar and sang in the choirs. A Time To Love: George married the love of his life, Acquilla Morgan. They cherished 23 years together; spending time traveling on cruises, visiting family in numerous cities, fishing, gardening, spending leisure time listening to George play his guitar and enjoying his special music collection. George also enjoyed spending quality time with his son Brean Morgan. Sharing their family history, fishing, and brainstorming over the latest technology and technical support. A Time To Say Goodbye: He was predeceased by: his parents: Atlas Morgan and Lillie Bell Morgan, step mother, Lucille Morgan, siblings: Willie, Jay Dee, Levon, Atlas, Don, Charles, Fred and Annie Lee. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife Acquilla Morgan, son Brean Morgan, sister JoAnne Morgan-Gibson, special cousin George Morris, special friends Mike Williams and John Wallace, also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
