Christ came upon the earth as a man. He was an example of how we are supposed to live. He was perfect, without sin. Through His life on earth, He was challenged of all things. Some good, some bad but He did not waver. He did the WILL OF OUR FATHER in HEAVEN, from the beginning of his life until his last breath. Jo-Ann Taylor may not have been perfect but she was an example of how to live. She was the 5th of 8 children to Theodore and Evron Taylor. Born, April 1, 1947, in the city of Newark, New Jersey, where she grew up, Early in life Jo-Ann learned good family values. How to be a good daughter, sister, friend. She learned how to take care of all situations by doing what was needed to be done. Never worrying nor complaining, just doing to the best of her abilities. At the young age of 11, Jo-Ann met her soulmate. A 12-year-old young man, whose family relocated to Newark, New Jersey from Kinston, North Carolina. His name, Frederick E. Canady. From the time they met, they were inseparable. They grew to love each other through all situations. Standing on the Truth. Doing what had to be done to the best of their abilities. Jo-Ann Taylor became Mrs. Frederick E. Canady on February 10, 1968, and would remain, husband and wife, until Frederick passed away on February 19, 2018. Along the way, there were some tough times for Jo-Ann. Mainly being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in her early 20s. But that never stopped her from doing what had to be done. She learned and became a great wife and mother. She worked for the City of East Orange, New Jersey as a data processor. It was there in East Orange, where she and Frederick would begin to build their family. Their 3 children, Duwayne Canady, Gail Canady Booker, and Keisha Canady would begin to grow there before moving to Roselle, New Jersey in 1978. As a mother, she taught her children the same values she was taught as a child. To be able to access and handle all situations. To stand on Truth to the best of their abilities. She was a great wife to Fred. She stood by his side through thick and thin. No matter how she felt physically, that was never her concern. She just did what it took all the time. And for that, she was adored by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. No matter how sad you thought you were, her presence would bring instant joy to you. It couldn’t be explained. It’s just the way she was. She had no ill will towards no one. Just an amazing human being. A beautiful soul. Never complicated. She would say the simplest things yet it would have great value. For example, her children were teasing her about getting old. She replied saying to get old you have to live. If you keep messing with me, you may not live to get old. She said it jokingly of course, with a big beautiful smile on her face. But the message was sent. In order to achieve anything, you have to live life to the best of your abilities. Standing on the Truth. Her children got the message along with all others who knew her. Through her trials, she smiled. If you felt bad for her she would say don’t worry about me, I’m blessed and so are you. Instantly, you would smile. She had that effect on her nurse aids, nurses and doctors. She never raised of voice, or pounded her fist or got angry seemingly never. A true Sweet Heart. After raising their children and being a part of raising 5 grandchildren, Frederick and Jo-Ann Canady would move to Charlotte North Carolina in 2008. It was there they would live out the rest of their lives together. On December 19, 2018, Jo-Ann’s soul was put to rest after a long struggle with MS and complications of pneumonia. Jo-Ann is survived by her 3 Children, Duwayne, Gail, and Keisha. 5 grandchildren, Darryl Canady, Kenya Booker, Darryn Canady, Duwayne Canady Jr., and Angel Booker. 3 sisters Antoinette Livingston, Evron Jones, and Christina Taylor. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws and friends. She will truly be missed but never ever forgotten. |
