Mrs. Rosie Lee Jackson Campbell 88, of Charlotte, NC. passed away Monday, December 24,2018 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House – Aldersgate Charlotte, NC. Funeral service will be held Saturday December 29,2019 at Mayfield Memorial Missionary Baptist Church 700 Sugar Creek Rd. West. Charlotte, NC 28213. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm and the service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will in Beatties Ford Memorial Gardens 11201 Beatties Ford Rd. Huntersville, NC. 28078. Rosie Lee Jackson Campbell was born on September 28, 1930 in Gaston County. God called her home on December 24, 2018. She was married to the late Garfield Campbell and to that union was born three children; Eugene Douglas Campbell, who preceded her in death as well; Richard A. Campbell; and Gloria Campbell Davis, both of Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Campbell also had 3 siblings preceding her in death, Alberta “Bert” Gillion; William “Pat” Rufus and Raymond. Mrs. Rosie Campbell was a graduate of Highland High School in Gastonia, NC and later finished Katherine Crosby’s Beauty School. She was a Beautician for 10 years after moving to Charlotte, NC. She retired from LANCE Packing Company, Inc. after 24 years of service and went on to be a Caregiver until her health failed. Mrs. Campbell was a loving and caring person who loved her Church Family and Pastor dearly. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchild, and a special caring son, Gregory Steele (LaVerne). After a few years of service at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, she transferred her membership to Mayfield Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. At Mayfield she was very active in; Sunday School Class #1; Missionary Group #2; Leadership Council; Ever-Ready Hostess Committee; Xtra Years of Zest; Adult Musical Choir; Seasoned Saints Praise and Worship Team; and Church Baptist Training Union. She was also once voted Mother of The Year. Left to mourn are; one daughter, Gloria C. Davis (Sylvester) and one son, Richard A. Campbell; Five grandchildren; Marcus, Chazston and Capricia Billings, Sylvester Jr. and Angelica Davis all of Charlotte, NC; one great granddaughter, Essence Billings of Atlanta, GA; and two cousins; Robert Harrison of NY and Theodore “Tag” Patton of FL. |
