Mr. Willie Roy Hubbard of Charlotte, NC .passed away Tuesday September 4,2018 at Sardis Nursing and Rehab Center. Public visitation will be held Wendesday September 12,2018 at Long & Son Mortuary Chapel beginning at 9:30 am until 11:30 am. Military rites and interment will take place at 1:00 pm in the Salisbury National Cemetery 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC 28144. Willie Hubbard (Deet) was born in Lexington, NC to the late John Robert and Bessy Mae Hubbard. Willie (Deet) attended Dunbar High School, in Lexington, North Carolina and shortly after graduation served 4 years with the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. After his time with the military, Willie relocated to Charlotte, NC where he worked for Seal Test for 20 years. Shortly after leaving Seal Test, Willie transitioned into the trucking industry for another 5 years until he became the primary caregiver for his mother.
Willie loved watching football, watching the old Western movies, reading, drawing, and spending time with his family.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory two sisters: Mrs. Charlie H. Frison and Argene Neely, one brother; James Hubbard, and the following nieces and nephews; John Frison Jr., James Frison, Jacquelyn Frison, Aaron Neely, Amber Neely, Malik Barber, Emani Barber, Jelani Barber, and Peyton Fincham. Proceeding Willie in eternal life is one brother; Jay Hubbard, and his parents; John Robert and Bessy Mae Hubbard
