Deborah Bright Ray

Ms. Deborah Bright Ray, 65  of Charlotte, NC. passed away Monday, August 6,2018 at her residence.Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 11,2018 @ Mt.Olive Missionary Baptist Church 6101 Neck Rd. Huntersville, NC 28078. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm and the service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Deborah Bright Ray was born in Iredell County on April 15, 1953. She departed from her earthly life to her heavenly life on Monday, August 6, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her mother, daughter and close friend. She was proceeded in death by her loving, devoted father, Andrew Bright.

 Deborah graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1971. Deborah worked for Praxair as a machine technician for 32 years, she retired in 2013.

 Deborah committed her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the usher board.

 She loved to travel, entertain and always kept in touch with friends and loved ones. Deborah and her four childhood friends; Bevelyn, Gwendolyn (deceased), Rosa, and Vanessa remained connected throughout adulthood theming themselves “The Divas”. Yearly, the five friends would gather and celebrate each other’s birthday.

 Deborah is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Bright, daughter, Ebonie (Kevin) Barnes, two granddaughters, Taylor Ann and Hailey Deborah, brother, Bernard Bright, sister, Laticia Highsmith, uncle, James (Peggy) Bright, aunt, Ruth Kernes, great-great aunt, Catherine Thompson all of Charlotte, N.C. and two very special friends Eugene Barber of Kannapolis, NC and Karien Baxter of Charlotte, NC. She also leaves to mourn three nieces, one nephew, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
