Mr. James Robert Heath 73, of Charlotte, NC. passed away Saturday December 2, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center – Main. Funeral service will be held Friday December 8, 2017 at First Mt. Zion Baptist Church 1515 Remount Rd. Charlotte, NC 28208. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm . Military rites and interment will take place at York Memorial Park. James Robert Heath, departed this life to enter into eternal rest on Dec 2nd, 2017 at Carolina CMC Main Hospital in Charlotte NC. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Christine Heath (May 8th, 2008) of 20+ years, his father Coppis K. Heath (July 30th, 1972) and his loving mother Willie Mae-Stevenson Heath (July 10, 2014). James was born January 15, 1944, in York County, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Mr & Mrs. Coppis K. Heath and Willie Mae-Stevenson Heath. He grew up in Rock Hill SC in close relations with his loving grandparents, Mr & Mrs Johnny and Eva Douglas-Stevenson, Mrs. Pearl Heath Belk and Mr. Tom Carter, adopted grandparents Mr. Robert and Mrs. Celia Heath, great grandparents the late Mr. & Mrs. Ephriam and Georgiana Douglas, great great “ grandma Jane” Byers -Star At an early aged, James attended New Zion Baptist Church Rock Hill SC. He was no stranger to many of the neighboring SC churches, in which he often visited. He also visited surrounding churches of Charlotte NC, where he resided. James attended school(s) in Rock Hill SC. He faithfully served his country by joining the United States Army from 1964-1966. He then moved to Charlotte, NC and worked until retirement from the City of Charlotte & The McClatchy Company both of Charlotte North Carolina. Early on and until his health declined, James “Booster”, a GREAT measure of a man, was well known for his compassion and generosity to the family, community, & neighborhood. James loved his classic GM cars & trucks, as well as the biggest wide screen TV on the market! He had to see and hear the San Francisco 49ers & watch old school cowboy classics “Here comes Booster with his trunk full of goodies” We will MISS and ALWAYS love you! Left to cherish one brother of Charlotte NC, Willie L. Heath Sr. (Bettye), one sister of Gastonia NC, Rosa Anna McCoy (Sammy), three nieces Pamela D. Williams (David) of South Carolina, Tara L. Smith (Darius), Aquanita S. Heath, both of Charlotte NC. Four nephews Willie L. Heath Jr (Yoba) of Charlotte NC. Little McCoy, Marco McCoy both of Gastonia NC, Alfonso McCoy of Chester, SC. Special children, Bonita Ussery Russell, Shalove Danyale Barnett, special grandchildren Emmanuel Amor Barnett, Tiffany Ussery Dunn, Sgt. Timothy Ussery,Brandon Russell,DaMario Russell, and Marquise Russell.
