Mr. Clarence Winslow, Jr. 62 of Charlotte,NC. passed away Friday September 22, 2017 at His residence. Funeral service will be held Friday September 29, 2017 at Nations Ford Community Church 5901 Nations Ford Rd. Charlotte, NC 28217. Public viewing will be at 10:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. Mr. Clarence “Buck” Winslow Jr. entered into heaven’s portals on September 22, 2017. Eldest son of the late Rev. Clarence and Lillie M. Winslow Sr., he began life on December 24, 1954 in Belvedere, NC. He attended Perquimans County Union School until his family moved to Havelock, NC. There he attended and graduated from Havelock High School. After graduation he moved to Brooklyn, NY where after some time he joined the United States Marines. Following a brief stint in the military he worked as a driver for Conway Trucking Co. “Buck” accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and joined Winslow Grove A.M.E. Zion Church. Moving with family to Havelock, NC, he joined Piney Grove A.M.E. Zion Church and sang on the youth choir where he was a soloist. Following family, he moved to Jacksonville, NC where he moved his membership from Piney Grove A.M.E. Zion to St. Julia’s A.M.E. Zion and again joined the choir. He finally moved and settled in Charlotte, NC where he joined Nations Ford Community Church. “Buck” was a loving, compassionate, doting father and brother. Leaving behind to mourn his passing: his daughter Danyelle Burton of Brooklyn, NY, two sons, Clarence Edgar and Devon Jo’Rel Winslow of Charlotte, NC, and daughter Ashley Nicole Winslow also of Charlotte, NC, five grandchildren Aaron Burton (Danyelle) of Brooklyn, NY, Kamoni and Elijah Winslow (Eddie) of Charlotte, NC, Chase Alexander and Camden Kyrie Winslow (Ashley) of Charlotte, NC. Three sisters, Minister Joyce Brothers of Waxhaw, NC, Mrs. Ellen Felton (Melvin) of Waxhaw, NC, Mrs. Barbara Johnson of Charlotte, NC, one brother, Mr. Don Lee Winslow of Wallkill, NY, one uncle Mr. Wallace Hinton of Belvedere, NC, two aunts Mrs. Essie and Rachel Hinton of Belvedere, NC, five nieces and nephews, eight great nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. |
