Mrs. Nancy Long Harris 67 of Charlotte, NC. passed away Sunday September 17, 2017 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House -Southminster. Funeral service will beheld Saturday September 23 , 2017 at Ebenezer AME Zion Church 12100 Jim Sossomon Rd. Midland, NC 28107. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm. at the service will follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course.

The life of Nancy F. Long Harris began July 29th, 1950 in Charlotte,
North Carolina. She departed this life on Sunday, September 17th, 2017
at 2:03 PM at Hospice House, Park Road in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Nancy was the daughter of the late Clyde and Jennie Long. She was
educated in the Public Schools of Mecklenburg County and graduated
from Second Ward High School, Charlotte, North Carolina.
At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Ebenezer A.M.E. Zion
Church in Midland, North Carolina where she remained a faithful
member until her death. She served on the Deacon Board and the
Kitchen Committee until her health failed.
She was employed with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as the Cafeteria
Manager for 41 years until she retired. She loved caring for children and
feeding them along with her family, friends and neighbors. Cooking was
a joy for her and she did this with great passion.
Nancy was preceeded in death by her husband Ronald Harris, Sr.
Because of her gentle spirit and the kindness of her heart, she will be
greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Two sons, both of Charlotte,
North Carolina: Ronald Harris, Jr. (Renita) and Adrian Harris. Three
daughters: Shawketta Harris (Glenn) of Hiram, Georgia; Ronnette
Harris of Charlotte, North Carolina; and La’Tasha Harris (Anthony)
of Phoenix, Arizona. One step daughter: Jolina Meaders of Charlotte,
North Carolina. Five sisters: Linda Houston, Doris Hicklin (Marshall),
Davia “Debra” Brisbane, Francenia King, and Sherry Brown all of
Charlotte, North Carolina. Two brothers: Jeffery Long (Dana) and
Codero Thompson both of Charlotte, North Carolina. Special friend:
Odell Potts; numerous grands, great-grands, and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.
