Mr. Kermit Lee Springs, 83 of Charlotte, NC passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at his residence. Military Rites and interment will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the Salisbury National Cemetery 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC 28144 at 10:00 am. Kermit Lee Springs affectionately known as “Kerm,” was born on April 16, 1937 to the late Daisy Harvey in Durham, North Carolina. Kermit transitioned his earthly life on September 3, 2020. Kermit was educated in the Philadelphia Catholic School System. After High School, Kermit joined the United States Air Force and served 20 years. His dates of service were from 04/17/1954 until 04/05/1974 and his rank was a staff sergeant. Kermit also worked as a police officer in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, and later in life worked as a security guard at Coca-Cola in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kermit was a quiet man who once enjoyed traveling and always enjoyed listening to Motown music especially James Brown. Kermit leaves to cherish his memories, Wife Ruby R. Springs of Charlotte, NC, sons Bryan Springs of California, Michael Springs of Las Vegas, Nevada, daughter Bonita Vecchio of California, step-son Alvin Melton of Charlotte, NC, brothers the late Thomas Springs of Maryland, John Springs of Durham, NC , Ronald Springs of Maryland, sister Linda Harvey of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Margaret Ann Sturdavant of Durham North Carolina, niece Torri Sullivan of Philadelphia PA, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. |
