Mr. Wilmore Edward Sanders, 91 of Charlotte, NC passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at his residence. Public viewing will beheld at Long & Son Mortuary Chapel Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Oaklawn Cemetery 1615 Oaklawn Ave. Charlotte, NC 28216 at 11:00am

Mr. Wilmore Edward “Uncle Ed” Sanders, the son of the late James Robert and Lula Ingram Sanders, was born April 10, 1929 in Chester County, South Carolina. He went on to be with the Lord on July 1, 2020.

He was happily married to Della Mae Jaggers Sanders for 38 wonderful years, which ended in her death in March 2012. They enjoyed cruises and getting together for dinner to celebrate birthdays with their siblings. Mr. Sanders and his wife were also faithful members of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Sanders received his education in the public schools of Chester County and later completed his education in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system.

Uncle Ed retired from Pnemafil in Charlotte, NC after working there for more than 30 years.

He was very sociable and really enjoyed people. The staff at Brighton Garden and his caregivers from Golden Heart loved him dearly and treated him as if he was their family.
Some of his favorite topics were family, finances and politics. If you really wanted to have some fun, try playing checkers with him, he would win almost every time. He also enjoyed playing cards.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Mae Jaggers, son Renard, sisters, Almetta Sanders, Willie Mae Cloud, Rowena Edwards, Doretha Lawrence, and brothers, Charles Sanders, John Paul Cloud, David Sanders, Neal Sanders, and James “LB” Sanders.

Left to cherish fond memories are, nieces Josephine Grant, Wanda R. Grant, Denise McKellery, Gloria Gladden, nephew Byron Sanders and a host of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, and several close friends.
