Service Announcements

Mr. Willie D. Washington 41, of Charlotte,NC. passed away Tuesday September 5, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center – Main. Funeral service will be held Friday September 8, 2017 at Greater Galilee Missionary Baptist 501 W. Park Ave. Charlotte, NC 28210. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

On Tuesday September 5, 2017, Duane went home to be with the Lord. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother with a ready smile.

Duane was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on August 11, 1976. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife Yolonda; son Dequarius; he is the son of Willie Frank and Naomi Washington; Two Brothers Anthony McIlwaine, Tarvo Washington Sr. (Sophia); Four nieces, Mayra Smith, Kadesha Burch, Quadasha McIlwaine, Naomi C. Washington; Two
nephews, Anthony Smith, Tarvo Washington Jr. (TJ); Three great-nieces, Alina &Vanessa Smith, Sevyn Isles; Two great nephews, Santana Isles & Lorenzo Smith; Father & Mother In Law, Levern & Leverne Clifton; Brother In Law, Adrian Clifton; Seven Aunts, Five Uncles; A very special sister-cousin Lamena McIlwaine a host of other relatives, family and friends.

He graduated from Independence High School in 1994. He received Jesus Christ as his Savior and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. He loved to praise God with song and voice. He was affiliated with and worshipped at Greater Galilee Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He worked at Cardinal Industrial Finishes for many years; briefly at Charlotte Area Transit Center (CATS) until complications with his health.
