Service Announcements

Mr. Wayne  Davidson 52, of Charlotte. passed away Wednesday March 1, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center- Main. Funeral service will be held Monday March 6,2017 at Memorial Presbyterian Church 2600 Beatties Ford Rd. Charlotte, NC 28216. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Wayne Randell Davidson, beloved son of Juanita R. Davidson and the late Mack L. Davidson, Jr., brother of Mack L. Davidson Ill and Lynn Davidson Hicks, and uncle to Joshua, Benjamin, Deborah, Hannah, and Nathanael, and friend to many, passed peacefully in his sleep on March 1, 2017.

A native of Charlotte, Wayne attended grades 1 – 8 at Our Lady of Consolation and high school at Charlotte Catholic High, where he graduated as salutatorian of his class. He subsequently received his Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana.

Wayne began his career as an engineer with General Electric in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a focus on testing airplane engines. Subsequently, he returned to Charlotte and shifted his focus to warehousing. He held a variety of positions in that field, such as safety specialist and instructor.

Endowed with a mischievous sense of humor and a sly, easy smile, Wayne naturally befriended others. Generous to a fault, he keenly felt that helping others was a natural extension of his deep Christian faith. Love, care, and protection of his mother and family members was an integral part of his life.
