This is a very sad day for me because I am just finding out Doc had died. He was a great man and a very good friend. Rest in peace Doc. My heart goes out to his family.

We are still trying to wrap our heads around the sudden loss of a dear friend. Looking back, the memories of our impromptu family sleepovers will forever be some the "best of times." Our prayer is that God will give us all a peace beyond understanding. We love you, Anderson family.

With heart felt sympathy and a very heavy heart, we send our deepest condolences. Times such as this are never easy, "yet realizing that earth has no hurt that heaven can not heal." Sorry we can't be there to hold your hand or wipe a tear away, but always remember god will see you through.......... Zanny, Donald & Robin

Our family is saddened by the passing of a friend and colleague. Our sincere condolences and prayers to the family. We again thank Travis for his hospitality and support when our daughter received an artist fellowship. She did graduate from the School of Design at NC State. Travis touched lives with humbleness. We are grateful for his sharing. Carolean Craig and Mariel Eaves.

Dr. Anderson was the funniest, kind-hearted, caring and loving man. It was a privilege to work with him. He was an awesome mentor. I learned so much about people from him. He treated everyone with the up most respect. He never judged people. His laugh was contagious and he always had a twinkle in his eye. He will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Dr. A. was an awesome Psychiatrist, he left a huge vacancy when he stopped practicing and now it's like mourning a loss all over again. It brings me comfort to know that he is no longer suffering.

Dr. Anderson was a great man that had compassion for helping others. He truly left a legacy in accepting people from all walks of life. He had a way of making people feel good about themselves. I am sorry that he had to leave us. My condolence to his family and friends. I will cherish the wonderful memories I have of him. Dr. Anderson made Crossroads Behavioral a great place to work. Rest easy my friend.

When I arrived at Carolina in 1972, every time I told someone that I was from Kinston, they'd immediately ask me if I knew Travis and Mavis Anderson. Their genius was legendary at UNC. I know the family will keep the fires of his brilliance and wit burning.

Dr. Anderson was a wonderful physician and colleague. He touched the lives of so many residents and students. I looked forward to working with him every day because of his compassionate and warm treatment of patients.

Dr. Anderson was one of the most special people that I have ever known both professionally and personally. There aren't enough superlatives to describe him. It is comforting to know that he is at peace now. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all the other people whose lives he touched. He will never be forgotten.

Dr. A. you touched the lives of so many, the very 1st child I adopted to the last. I know you were hurting and am sorry that you have left us. Know that you were loved and will be missed. You left your mark on all of us. I pray you have the peace you sought.

I worked with Dr. Travis L. Anderson in Mt Airy at Crossroads BHC. Over the years we became very close friends. Dr. Anderson was one of the most kind hearted, funny, and caring people that I have ever known. He had a nick-name for practically everyone. My nick-name for him was "Cletus," his nick-name for me was "Blanche." I haven't spoked to him in several months, but have never forgotten about him, and his name seems to be a regular in out family household with my husband, and son. I am just so sorry about the loss of such a wonderful man. May God wrap his loving arms around the family, and may you reflect back on ALL of the wonderful memories that you have of Dr. Anderson, as I'm sure they will most definitely bring a smile to your face. You may be gone but you are certainly not forgotten. Love and peace. Robin, Ricky, & Adam Rudisill

Dr. Travis Anderson was a kind, funny, caring, and compassionate human being, and a brilliant psychiatrist. I am very thankful that I had the great privilege to have worked with him at Crossroads and even more thankful that he was my friend. I had not seen him for a few years and was deeply saddened to learn that those opportunities are now gone. Rest in peace, Travis. Your presence made the world a better place for so very many people.
