Mr. Theodore “Thump” Cuthbertson, Jr. 60, of Charlotte,NC. passed away Wednesday, September 18,2019 at Atrium Health Main Medical Center. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 27,2019 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church 517 Baldwin Ave. Charlotte, NC 28204. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00pm. Interment will be in the York Memorial Park 5150 S. Tryon Street Charlotte, NC 28217.

Theodore also known as Thump was born on January 30, 1959 to Theodore and Elizabeth Givens Cuthbertson in York, South Carolina. He was middle child of five children. On Wednesday, September 18, 2019, Thump transitioned to be with the lord.

Thump graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He worked as restaurant staff for many years before his health failed. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a devoted member of his community.

Thump was very outspoken, but was known best by his family and friends as the “dancing machine”. He did not go too far without his Walkman and music in his ears. Thump loved to dance and celebrate life with everyone. He walked daily and enjoyed sitting around with his friends talking and having a good time.

The love of his life Lora Miller Cuthbertson preceded him in death. From their union they were blessed with two daughters; Formeka (Jaye), Yvonziner (Derrick), and his son Travis. From these blessings Thump had eight grandchildren; Amaya, Jaye, Jaylen, Chauncey, Lora, De’Aundra, Jaleeah, and De’Zion.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory; his mother, Elizabeth Givens Cuthbertson; one brother, Willie Givens (Brenda); two sisters, Mary Anne Givens and Elizabeth B. Cuthbertson (Leander) along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
