Service Announcements

Ms. Rose Mae Price, 86, of Charlotte, NC. passed away Monday, June 3,2019 at her residence. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 10,2019 at Long & Son Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery 1601 Oaklawn Ave. Charlotte, NC 28216.

Ms. Rose Mae Price, 87 years old, daughter of the late Neal and Tinnie Price, was born July 6, 1932 in Matthews, NC. She departed this life on June 3, 2019 at her home.

She was employed by Charlotte Mecklenburg School, domestic laundry and secret laundry until 1974 when she retired.

She joined Matthews-Murkland Presbyterian Church at an early age, her last known church was Greater Love Baptist Church where she attended many times.

Rose received a limited education, because of hard times during her childhood, therefore causing her to work on the farm to help the family. That didn’t stop her from encouraging her child and other children of the family that she helped raise. She told some of the best stories you ever wanted to hear. Her stories had us children captivated during the whole time she was telling them. Rose was also a kind and loving caregiver of other children outside the home that she kept and loved so dear they became part of the family. She had a very tender heart with a soft voice. She was truly amazing, being there for our family you gave us the greatest gift you ever could have given us, the gift of your love. You will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, three brothers, Mr. Ernest Lee Price, Mr. Theodore Price, Sr., Mr. Sammie Price, one son, Alvin Lenny Price and grandmother, Emma Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one brother, Robert Lee Price (Betty), one sister Emma Geneva Price, both of Charlotte, NC, four grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
