Ms. Rosa Lee “Rose” Stanley Garlin, daughter of the late Cora Lee Stanley Parsons and Olen Thomas, was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 26, 1951.
While growing up, Rose enjoyed learning and was often an Honor Roll student. She enjoyed helping her little brother Jerry with his homework and spending time with her cousin Jeanette, who was like the sister she never had.
She graduated from West Charlotte High School and attended Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC, where she met the late Glenn Graham whom she wed in Holy Matrimony. Out of that union her children were born. In her younger years, she worked in banking at then NCNB and Wachovia; Rose really enjoyed being a telephone operator at Southern Bell now AT&T.
She loved family, friends, cooking, crocheting and having a good time. She was a big-hearted individual. She would do anything she could for people, even give her last if someone needed it. Her neighbors and friends knew when she cooked, because a plate was always offered and a cocktail if she had it. When you saw Rose, it was rarely without her good friend Jackie by her side sharing a laugh. If you were in her life, you knew you were loved without her saying it. She was loved, enjoyed life, and she will be dearly missed by her loved ones and all that knew her.
On Wednesday, April 22, 2020, the Angel of Silence entered Rose’s room and God saw fit to relieve her Bright Spirit to that land unknown to man.
She leaves to cherish her fond memory four children: Jewand Graham (Shawnta), Shema Graham, Nena Golembe (Brett), and Glenn “GG” Graham Jr. (Elsa) all of Charlotte, NC, one brother Jerry Stanley (Geraldine) of Charlotte, NC, thirteen grandchildren, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
