Mr. Campbell has greatly impacted my life and it all started in 1982. God used this amazing man to reach out to a host of Piedmont Courts (a Govt. subsidized neighborhood) teens and families and offered them hope through his outreach program via Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church and community initiatives through Forest Hills Presbyterian Church. He single handedly visited our homes to make sure that we had the necessities of life, took us on countless field trips to see outside the four corners of our little ghetto world, and yes, made sure that we took the time to do homework during the afterschool program at Seigle Ave. Because of his dedication, hard work, and unconditional love towards so many people, I know his reward in heaven will be great....and I'm sure many others will agree with this affirmation. I'm sure the Lord is saying to Mr. Campbell, "Well done....thy good and faithful servant, enter now into the joy of the Lord"....I look forward to seeing him again in glory...but for now I say "Take your rest" and love you always. _Do yourself a favor and take the time to mourn the loss of Richard 'Stone' Campbell_As you go through the five stages of grief; denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance, memories of the good times you spent together with our late friend may bring a smile to your face instead of a painful grimace_R.I.P. brother.

Richard aka Mr.Campbell was the was a father to so man of me and many others. He was our leader not and the Head drummer and creator of Akwabba African drummers and dancers he was very special to us. It showed us not to be afraid. To stand up for ourselves and be proud of our heritage. He taught us to love ourselves and others. As well as how to work together to get things done. He showed us bright lights and we were celebrities of our own because he instilled these things in us. Akwabba was a family with Richard as the leader. He never left anybody out. There was always a place for everyone. As the first dancer of the group he made me believe in myself, he taught all of us that we were special. And last but not least always Welcome all people in the name of our God…AKWABBA! And this is outside of the after school and everything else. This Man is a legend. The Legend of Richard Campbell will one day be told.
