Ms.Rena Marie Frazier, 55 of Charlotte, NC. passed away Saturday December 1,2018 at Novant Health Main Charlotte.Funeral service will be held Saturday December 8,2018 @ Long & Son Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in York Memorial Park 5150 S.Tryon St. Charlotte, NC 28217.
Rena Marie Frazier-Hearn, was born October 16, 1963 in Washington, DC to the late Robert Lee and Mary Roberta Frazier. Rena was the fourth of seven children. Rena was raised in the Catholic faith and made her First Holy Communion at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Washington, DC in 1980. Rena dedicated her life to Christ, during her later years in which she became an extraordinary example of faith, love and hope, that was seen and known by anyone that met her.
Rena attended and loved Elevation Church, in Charlotte, NC prior to her illness.
Rena was educated in the Washington, DC Public Schools. Rena was very fun to be around and she loved hanging out with her friends and family. Rena had a love for music, dance and laughter, and she never met a stranger.
Rena loved her two daughters, Monique, and Marissa Frazier. Rena also loved spending time with her grandchildren. As a young teenager, Rena enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing and cooking. Rena loved her two dogs Jack and Jill. Rena worked at many different jobs throughout her life to support her family prior to her illness.
Rena was preceded in death by her parents Robert Lee, and Mary Frazier, a brother Jasper Phelps, and Nathaniel Frazier. She is survived by the love of her life, John Hearn, two daughters Monique and Marissa Frazier and four grandchildren, Malayjah Frazier, Amere, Bruce, and last but not least Bryston Smith. Three sisters, Cathy A. Brown (John), Sandra E. Bolding (James) and Christine Frazier. She is also survived by one brother Matthew R. Frazier and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rena relocated from Washington, DC to Columbia, SC where she met John. They were joined in Holy union October of 2004, and spent the remainder of her life in Charlotte, NC. During her two years of illness, Rena never complained. In addition to John, she was cared for by Samuel J. Hearn, and numerous doctors and nurses and “Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” She kept her faith, she fought a great fight. Rena finished her course with the amazing faith and love for the Lord. She was and will always be remembered as a very strong and courageous woman.
