Paul Pendergrass Sr. proudly served his country as a soldier in both the United States Army (1947-1951) and the United States Air Force (1951-1955).  He was dedicated to his education and received his degree in Child Psychology from Carver College in 1960.  After 21 years of dedicated service he retired from Winn Dixie Corporation.  He also proudly dedicated his time serving as a 32nd and a third, 1st degree Mason at Paul Drayton Lodge Consissory No. 7.   He additionally served at Shiloh Institutional Baptist Church as a member of the Usher Board and as acting President of the Men’s Laymen’s League.

Paul was a man of honor, conviction and compassion.  He always took the opportunity to impart his wisdom on others and to care for those less fortunate…including the neighborhood cats.  He met his wife, Shirley, in Winnsboro, South Carolina They were married in 1958 and remained so for over 60 years.

A special thank you to Gloria Grier, a special niece who tirelessly dedicated her time and talent to ensure Paul’s comfort and care in his last days.
