I knew Norris when he started school at Collinswood elementary. He played shortstop on my baseball team named the Grace Eagles. He attended my birthday party for my tenth birthday. He was very excited when he asked what we were going to eat. My mother told him that we were having hot dogs and cake, and he was so excited he could barely contain himself. He remained a good friend and sports team mate throughout our times at Sedgefield Jr High and Myers Park High School. I would see him occasionally and he always had a kind word for me. His parents were very proud of his skills on the baseball diamond and the football team. His brother Alvin also played ball and was known for his speed, but I think that Shane was probably a step faster. He will be missed.
