Mrs. Mary Mobley Mattison, age 82 of Charlotte, NC passed on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Huntersville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Homegoing Celebration will be Monday, July 29, 2019 at Second Calvary Baptist Church. 114 Nelson Avenue Charlotte,NC 28216.Visitation will begin 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and service will start at 12: Noon. Interment will be at York Memorial Park.
Mrs. Mattison was born April 19, 1937 in York, South Carolina, daughter of the late Henry and Lucille Mobley. She attended South Carolina trade school where she earned a degree in sewing. Mary worked as a seamstress manager for Belk department store until her retirement. Mary enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening and “eating cookies”.
Mary was a member for over 40 years at Second Calvary Baptist Church. Until her health declined she was an active member of the Greeters Ministry, Seniors Ministry and the Missions Ministry.
She was also a member of Alpha Phi Chi Sorority, Inc.
Mrs. Mattison is preceded in death by her husband, Saylor Lee Mattison, Jr., her sister Allene Davis, and brother Walter Davis. She is survived by sons Ronald L. Mattison, Sr. (Pertricia), Michael Mattison, daughter Pamela Mattison Cantey; grandsons R. J. Mattison and Cameron Mattison, granddaughter Christina Cantey and a host of relatives and friends.
