Mr. Marshall Thomas Little of Charlotte, NC. passed away Sunday November 5, 2017 .Memorial service will be held Thursday November 9, 2017 at Rock Hill AME Zion Church 2723 W. Lawyers Rd. Indian Trail, NC. Vistiation will begin at 5:30 pm and the Memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm.
Marshall Thomas Little, 59, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Sunday, November 5th . Born in Midland, NC on February 7, 1958; he was the oldest son of four boys to the late Marcus Little and Jesse Little.
Marshall was a graduate of Central Cabarrus High School. He received a basketball scholarship to Wingate Jr. College and transferred after 2 years to Presbyterian College to continue his basketball career. He completed his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Mathematics. He went on to teach at Western Union Middle School and then, Parkwood High School, where he also served as JV basketball coach.
Marshall discovered his love of electronics and engineering when he later attended UNC-Charlotte where he earned his Electronics Engineering degree. He also studied at Carnegie Mellon in an Engineering Summer program. Upon graduating with his Engineering degree, he worked at Harris Electronics before starting his own business, M&M Technology, with partner, Majid Babaie from the ground up. M&M Technology was Marshall’s dream business venture that allowed him to explore his circuit building skills and strengthen a community for minorities in the engineering field, where he worked for almost 30 years. Since 2013, Marshall was employed as an engineer at Dynazign, Inc.
Marshall loved basketball, music, especially Jazz, working outdoors, and watching sports. His favorite teams were the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Hornets. He taught himself to play the guitar and was the go-to handyman among his family and friends. He put his whole heart into finding solutions for others and was completely genuine in all his interactions. Marshall was a good Christian man. He was a humble servant of God and always put others before himself.
Marshall was more than a husband, father, brother, uncle, friend; he was a shining example and his memory will be treasured by all he touched. He is survived by his wife Jean Little of 27 years: daughter, Jennifer Little, of Brooklyn, New York; sons, Sydney Little and Wesley Little of Charlotte; His mother, Jesse Little of Midland; and brothers, David Little, Carl Little, and Ralph Little of Midland, NC. He is also survived by two half-brothers, William Bruns, of Monroe, and Gordan Little of New Mexico. He loved his nephews Alexander Little and Ayrton Little of Louisiana as well as a host of extended family and friends.
