Mark Anthony Marshall, 48, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Atrium Health in Charlotte. He was born on March 27, 1971 in Charlotte, NC to the late Claybon Marshall Sr. and Minnie Nichols Marshall. He attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and graduated in 1990 from Garinger High School, where he was a member of the wrestling and football teams. Mark graduated in 1997 from Central Piedmont Community College with his Associates degree. Mark was previously employed at Eckerd’s Drug Store, Newcor, and Custom Hydraulics in Charlotte, NC. His last employer was Moog, Inc. in Blacksburg, VA. Mark enjoyed camping, grilling, and remote control cars. Mark’s blood ran blue with his love for the Dallas Cowboys (How bout them boyz?). He loved being with his family and he considered his siblings his best friends. Mark’s nephews and nieces were his pride and joy. Mark is also preceded in death by his brother William Marshall. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jody; brothers Clyde Marshall (Patricia) and Timothy Marshall (Tamara) of Charlotte, NC and Claybon Marshall, Jr. of Lexington, SC; sisters Ella Mae Marshall, Loretta Granger, Elaine Marshall and Quija Marshall of Charlotte, NC; uncles Larry Marshall of Austin, TX, William Nichols and Charlie Nichols (Carolyn) of Charlotte, NC, and Robert Louis Nichols (Nell) of Rock Hill, SC; aunts Norma Jones and Elmira Franklin of Austin, TX; his best friend, Kris Tillery; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 12, 2019 at Parkwood Institutional CME Church 802 Tom Hunter Rd. Charlotte, NC 28213. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm.Interment will be in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens 1520 Sugar Creek Rd. West Charlotte, NC 28262.
