Marilyn Ann Medcalf Holley entered this world on November 11th, 1956, a cherished daughter of Rayfield Medcalf Jr. and Erma

Jean Medcalf in Midland, TX, both of whom have gone ahead

to their eternal rest. Marilyn, the third among four siblings, experienced the sorrow of bidding farewell to her sisters, Donna Duah Medcalf and Brenda Sue Medcalf, who departed before her. During her early years, Marilyn’s family relocated to Dallas,

TX, where she successfully graduated from South Oak Cliff High School (SOC).

Following her academic journey, Marilyn embraced the roles of motherhood with the birth of her son Rahmel Shaheed Allah, who has since passed away, and her daughter Starr Renee Slade. While residing in Dallas, she embarked on a fulfilling career at Southwest and Bell, simultaneously showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit by managing her own catering business.

When her mother Erma faced health challenges, Marilyn selflessly moved to Charlotte, NC, to provide devoted care. After Erma’s departure, she continued to be a pillar of support for her father. It was during this chapter of her life that Marilyn encountered the love of her life, Raymond Ray Holley, with whom she shared a lifelong commitment until her passing.

Marilyn’s innate qualities as a caregiver and her ability to forge lasting friendships touched the lives of many. Her impact on those around her was profound, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. Left to mourn her departure are her devoted husband, Ray Holley, her daughter Starr Slade, sister Shari Edwards, six grandchildren, and a multitude of other relatives and friends. Marilyn An Medcalf’s legacy of love, compassion, and friendship will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
