Mrs. Maggie Roberta Vinson Bolden 80, of  Charlotte, NC. passed away August 24 ,2016 at her residence. Funeral service will be held Sunday August 28,2016 at Marvin AME Zion Church 1525 Crane Rd. Waxhaw, NC 28173. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm and the service will follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in the Church cemetery.

Maggie Roberta “Bert” Vinson Bolden, the daughter of the late Mrs. Eloise Dunn Vinson and the late Mr. Ward Vinson, was born September 13, 1935 in Union County, NC; and, she was the faithful wife of the late Charles Bolden Sr., (1972)Bert peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in her home surrounded by her sons.She was a faithful member of the Marvin AME Zion Church family her entire life and was the granddaughter of one of the founding members of Marvin, Mr. Dewitt Dunn (1973).  She leaves to mourn her departure four sons, Charles Bolden Jr., (Betty), Ronnie Eugene Bolden, David Leon Bolden (Lisa), and James Edward Bolden. One daughter, Ruth Bolden, preceded her mother in death. Five sisters, Ms. Roberta Celestine Ivey, Mrs. Elizabeth Davis, Mrs. Betty Dunlap, Mrs. Dorothy Bynum, and Mrs. Sharon Moore, and Mrs. Sharon Moore.  And one brother John Robinson, Jr. Two very special cousins Willie Bell Cureton and Alexander Cureton, and dear friend Mr. Clarence Fetherson and familyShe was a faithful member of the Marvin AME Zion Church family here.

.She had nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.rt spent her entire life working, attending Marvin, giving and loving her entire family, and seeing after her four boys. Make no mistake, Bert never put anything before her boys and she gave those boys everything she could possibly give them. So when she closed her eyes on that Wednesday morning, she that her work had been well done and she had earned her rest in the Lord.
