Mrs. Louise Evangelist,of Charlotte, NC. passed on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at her resident. Funeral service will be Friday September 22,2017 at New Waves of Joy Baptist Church. 4937 W. WT Harris Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28215. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens.

Louise Evangelist, 71, of Charlotte NC, peacefully transitioned from her earthly life to eternal rest on September 13, 2017. She bravely battled cancer until God called her home. She was the daughter of Euola and Charlie Mackie, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

She was born in Scotland County, NC and graduated from Scotland High School in Laurinburg, NC. After high school, she journeyed up north to New York where she met, fell in love with and married Charles Evangelist. Through this holy union, three children were born. Anita, Sharon, and Charles Jr.

In 2002 along with her family, Louise relocated to Charlotte, NC where she was able to enjoy retirement. She loved to cook for her family and her family loved to eat her cooking. She also loved arts and crafts and binge watching television, especially the Young and the Restless, her favorite soap opera.

She also found a church home in New Waves of Joy. She remained a dedicated member and attended regularly until her health declined.

She leaves her love to be cherished by Charles, her husband of 50 years, her  children Anita of Charlotte, NC, Sharon of Houston, TX and Charles Jr (Tanika) of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Rodrick, Kiahna, Nakia, Adajah, Elijah, Henry and Adina and also four great grandchildren Nylah, Shiera, Chance and Chase. She was loving and devoted towards all of her children.

She also leaves behind two sisters Eula Mae (Cleo) of High Point, NC and Maggie of Philadelphia, PA and four brothers Samuel (Ruth Jean), Lee (Shirley), Ronnie and Bernise (Mary) all residing in Laurinburg, NC.

She also leaves to mourn her passing several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
