Mr.Leonard Alvin Burns 62, of Indian Trail , NC passed away September 21, 2016 at Novant Presbyterian Health Medical Center -Matthews. Funeral service will be held Monday September 26, 2016 at Rock Hill AME Zion Church 2723 W. Lawyers Rd. Indian Trail , NC 28079.Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm.
Leonard Alvin Burns, son of the late Clement F. Burns and Dorothy Little Burns, was born August 19, 1954 in Indian Trail, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Novant Mathews Medical Center.
Alvin, affectionately known as ‘AB’, was a fun loving person that never complained. He loved the Lord and his family. He became a member of Rock Hill A.M.E Zion Church at an early age. He remained an active member until God called him from labor to reward. He faithfully attended Wednesday Bible Study, Sunday School and Church Services. He took on various tasks and any opportunity he could to support his church. He loved to bake cakes and was often asked to make them.
Alvin attended school in the Union County Public School System and graduated from Piedmont High School in 1973. Alvin’s’ love for cars prompted him to continue his education in Automotive Studies at the Community College. Alvin enjoyed his career working at various dealerships in the Charlotte area. He worked until he was no longer able to due to his disability.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one sister Flonnie Hamilton (Emmett) of Plainfield NJ, two brothers Clinton Burns (Elzora) of Hillside NJ , Gerald Burns (Edna) of Raeford NC, two sister in-laws, Lorraine Burns of Tampa FL, Debbie Burns of Jackson MS, one aunt, Mrs. Jessie Little of Midland NC. Seven nieces: Kim Galloway(Douglas), Jenell Robinson (Hesley), Clarrisa Jackson, Tonya Jackson, Emelda Guin-Allen, Melissa Thompson (Matthew), Dottie Burns; five nephews: Sypder Hamilton, Theotis Burns, Gerald Burns Jr., Clement Burns (Dawn); Cornelius Stafford , special cousins Ronnie Burns (Bobbie), William Burns (Lona); affectionate like daughters Michele Wright , Alisha Williams , many great nieces, great nephews , family members and friends.
