Lena was my first friend and playmate as far as I can remember. I was born in August and she was born in October. She was the only other “little girl” who lived close to my home. We started first grade together. The first two or three years, of school, we often dressed alike. Many people thought we were sisters. We lived and experienced some of the same activities, back in the days when we were both innocent, and families and friends were close. Our lives seem to be filled with fun and laughter. Then 52 years ago, we graduated from high school, and two roads diverged in a yellow wood, one for Lena and one for me. I am sorry we could not each travel both. Lena took one road and I took the other not knowing how each road would lead. We thank God for Lena and the life she ran. God’s blessings to her family and her children until our roads meet again. In prayer and deepest sympathy.. Queen Norwood Thompson
