Elane, as she was affectionately known, attended public schools in Lenoir County and graduated from Frink High School in Lagrange, North Carolina. After graduating high school, she migrated to Newark, New Jersey and attended business school.

Elane accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a very young age. Once in Newark, she became a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, where she attended Sunday School and served as a Missionary, and a member and President of the Celestial Choir.

While recruiting new members for the Celestial Choir, she met the love of her life, Theodore “Ted” Faison. On August 30, 1975, the two were married. Although she did not birth any children, she was Mother to many.
Elane and Ted relocated to Waxhaw , NC, in 2005. Upon returning to North Carolina, they joined Greater Providence Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Fred Gibson. She was a faithful member of the Women’s Ministry and Senior Missionary. Every Sunday, she took her seat on the second row with her favorite pew partner, Mrs. Debra Lewis.

On Thursday, June 29, 2017, shortly after midnight, Elane took her last breath and went home to be with the Lord.
Elane leaves to cherish in love and memory her husband, Theodore Faison, her goddaughters, Sherry Stallings Grayer and her husband Archie, Michelle C. Johnson, Luella and Jada. She will also be missed by her brother, Hubert C. King (H.C.) and his wife Mildred, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and many loved ones.
