Mrs. Jean Francis Spears Dennis 78,of Charlotte,NC. passed away Friday, May 23,2019 at her residence. Funeral service will beheld Saturday, June 1,2019 at First United Presbyterian Church 406 E. 7th Street Charlotte, NC 28202. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am and the service will follow at 11:00 am interment will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens 8901 Lawyers Rd. Charlotte, NC 28227.

Mrs. Jean Francis Spears Dennis passed away on May 23, 2019.

Born in Harrisburg, NC, Mrs. Dennis was the only daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Alexander and the late Robert Lester Spears. She was a long-time member of First United Presbyterian Church where she served on the Deacon Board.

Mrs. Dennis graduated from West Charlotte High School and became a certified cosmetologist and worked as a Beautician. Later she earned certification in Early Childhood Development from Central Piedmont Community College and worked as a teacher’s assistant at Myers Park Traditional Elementary School.

While she was a Beautician, she met Ray Dennis in 1965.  They were married on June 4, 1967 and their union bore three children.

Mrs. Dennis was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Elizabeth Alexander and Robert Lester Spears and her brother, Samuel Earl Spears.  She is survived by her husband, Ray Dennis; brother James “Bud” Spears (Rosetta); children, Monique Alexander (Ivan), Michael Dennis and Mark Dennis (Sharnetta); grandchildren, Sean Alexander and Jessica Alexander; and a host of other relatives and friends.
