Obituary for Ivan M. Lowe, II
With hearts anchored in faith, we announce that Ivan Miguel Lowe, II, affectionately known as “Tui”, entered eternal rest on January 13, 2026, at the age of 31. While the final buzzer has sounded on his earthly life, we trust and believe that God, in His infinite wisdom, has called Ivan from the court of time into eternity, to a place where joy is complete and peace has no end.
His Journey
Ivan Miguel Lowe, II was born on March 23, 1994, in Flint, Michigan, to Ivan and Natalie Lowe. Years later, he relocated with his family to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he would grow, mature, and spend the remainder of his life. Ivan accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was baptized at First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. F.O. Hockenhull. He later joined Ebenezer Baptist Church, continuing to build a faith foundation strong enough to carry him through every season of life.
Ivan attended gifted and talented magnet schools in both Flint and Charlotte, experiences that shaped his intellect, character, and discipline. These qualities carried over into his professional life in the field of technology, where he was deeply committed to helping others navigate an ever-changing digital world. At Asurion, Ivan was known as an excellent, dependable, hardworking, and dedicated employee, someone others could always count on and who consistently exceeded expectations.
His Love for the Game
Basketball was more than a sport to Ivan. It was a language he spoke fluently, a place where he found joy, refuge, companionship, and brotherhood. A devoted Los Angeles Lakers fan, he held deep admiration and respect for the legendary Kobe Bryant, embracing his ideals of hard work, preparation and perseverance. Ivan began his high school basketball journey on the Men’s Varsity Team at Harding University High School, then continued to make his mark at Vance High School during his sophomore and junior years, where he became known for stretching the floor and lighting up the scoreboard with confident three-point shots.
His high school career culminated at J.M. Robinson High School, where his love for the game remained strong. As a skilled point guard, Ivan also played on several AAU teams, including United Stars, Charlotte Storm, and Charlotte Heat. He understood basketball wasn’t just about scoring. It was about setting up the play, seeing the floor, lifting others and trusting the team. Whether calling plays, encouraging teammates or celebrating a win, Ivan showed that the true beauty of the game lived in unity, heart and purpose.
His Family & Legacy
Ivan’s heart was big, his spirit genuine, and his love for family and friends unwavering. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lenord and Bernice Lowe, and his aunt, Tonya Carroll.
Among the many titles Ivan held—son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, teammate, and friend—his greatest and most cherished title was Daddy. A special place in his heart belonged to his daughter, Lailynn Capri Lowe (mother, Ashley Green). She was his greatest blessing, the reason behind his infectious smile, and the legacy he treasured most.
Those left to cherish Ivan’s memory include his parents, Ivan and Natalie Lowe; siblings, Isaiah Lowe, Imani Lowe, and Elijah “Rod” Hampton, all of Charlotte, North Carolina; maternal grandparents, Charles and Darlene Rogers of Flint, Michigan; godparents, Henry Clay and Tammie Eggleston of Fenton, Michigan, godmother, Debbie Rochowiak of Howell, Michigan; a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; very special lifelong friends, Christopher James II, Darrian Bush, Nicole Graham and devoted companion, Nia Matherson.
As we release Ivan from this earthly court, we do so with hearts leaning not on our own understanding but trusting fully in the Lord. Guided by the promise of Proverbs 3:5–6, we rest in the assurance that God directed his final play, one that now leads to perfect peace, eternal rest, and a homecoming beyond the final buzzer.
