Miss Iris Denise Ivey, 62 of Charlotte, NC passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Atrium Health University. Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Oak Grove Baptist Missionary Baptist Church. 700 Sims PKWY. Harrisburg, NC 28075. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00pm. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.

Iris Denise Ivey known as Denise born January 12, 1960 in Charlotte NC to predeceased mother Thelma Lee Ivey, departed this earthly life on February 5, 2022.

She leaves behind her daughter Quanishia Shavondra Ivey and her 5 grandchildren ShamBrae Davis, De’Asia Sturdivant, Michael Branch, Ja’Barious Ivey, and Charles Dixon. Denise was the 6th child out of 8 children. She leaves to cherish memory, siblings: Deborah Ivey, Charlotte, NC, Linda Grisson, Richmond, Virginia, Vivian Harris(Lonnie), Salisbury, NC, and Verlene Glover(Bobby) Charlotte, NC, Brenda Hardy, Charlotte, NC, Horace Ivey (Felicia), Lloyd Allen Ivey (Evette) and Jimmy Don Ivey (Ethel).

Denise graduated from Garinger High School of Charlotte NC, and she also attended Central Piedmont Community College of Charlotte NC. She then begin to work as a receptionist and retailer until her health began to decline.

Denise was a loving and kind person who loved and adored her daughter Quanishia and her grandchildren. She would do anything for her family with compassion and no judgment. She loved hard and never expected anything in return.

Denise would make the best potato salad and fried chicken. She loved to dress and shop, Denise also had growing hands and could pick up any little hair if it was too short ; that’s because she braided backwards and fast.

Denise was smart, strong, funny, and loved by all who crossed her path.
