This is the first time that I am writing a message for an occasion like this but, I can not allow this opportunity to pass since I will not be able to attend the funeral. Although it would definitely be easier, it would not be right because Ingrid was more than her disability. It has been my pleasure getting to know Ingrid Massey. I enjoyed our long conversations as we shared several stories and words of encouragement. Her artwork is beautiful. However, they are not as beautiful as her spirit. Ingrid was passionate about the things that she loved and the people that she cared about. Regardless of what was going on in her life, whenever we talked, she always found a way to make me laugh and some days that was really a significant undertaking. I will miss the laughter that we shared the most because that was something that we had in common. We learned how to smile in the face of adversity and how to find joy in the difficulties that challenged us the most. I will truly miss her sparkle... To those who loved Ingrid, remember the positives; she loved God, she reinvented her life, she was creative, and most importantly she never lost her ability to be empathetic and kind. She loved you all dearly... Rest In Peace Ingrid!
