Service Announcements

Mrs. Ilda Johnson Green of Charlotte, NC. passed away Monday September 3,2018 at her residence. Memorial Service will be held Monday September 10,2018 at Memorial Presbyterian Church 2600 Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC 28216. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm.

Mrs. Green passed away Monday, September 3, 2018. Born and raised in Charlotte, NC on July 29, 1924, she was the second of five children of Hodge D. Johnson and Margaret C. Johnson.

She attended the public school system in Charlotte, NC. After her public education she attended Barber Scotia College for two years before going to Washington D.C. to seek employment. After working years in Federal Government she came back home, and enrolled at Johnson C. Smith University, completing requirements and earning a B.A. Degree in English in May of 1958.

Mrs. Green retired after teaching in Rocky Mount and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools until 1985. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and she also was a life time member of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC.

Left to mourn her passing are husband of 48 years Joseph E. Green Sr., stepson Dr. Joseph E. Green Jr., set grandson Jordan Anderson (L’Shada), step great grandson Jordan Anderson Jr., brother-in-law Willie Little and nephew Kendrick Little, niece Sharon Williams and daughter Nicole Williams, nephew Shawn Saunders, daughter Remeicia Saunders and Eric Saunders, nephew Donnie Johnson, nieces Angie Johnson and Bonnie Facter of South Carolina, sister/cousin Sinette Johnson Benson, VA and cousin Sammie Johnson of Charlotte, NC.
