Mrs. Gwendolyn Nicole Ingram – Godwin 42, of Charlotte, NC. passed away Monday, October 15,2018 at Novant Health -Main Charlotte,NC. Funeral service will be held Saturday,October 20,2018 at Long & Son Mortuary Chapel 2312 Beatties Ford Rd. Charlotte, NC 28216. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the service will follow at 11:00  am. Interment will be in York Memorial Park Cemetery 5150 S.Tryon St. Charlotte, NC 28217

Gwendolyn Nicole Ingram-Godwin was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 07, 1976 to Mr. Larry Ingram and Mrs. Audrey Alexander Leeper.  Gwendolyn departed this life on Monday, October 15, 2018.

Gwendolyn was educated in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System; she graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1994 and then entered Fayetteville State University.

From a very early age, Gwen desired to own a childcare center and teach young children.  Throughout her entire adult life, she has worked in childcare, lastly as a CMS After School Enrichment Program Coordinator at Dorothy J. Vaughn Academy of Technology.  Gwendolyn truly was passionate about building the ASEP program at DJV.  She was creative and diligent and she possessed a wealth of knowledge of childcare and programs for young children.

Gwendolyn was a strong believer in the word of God.  Through all the trials of her life, her faith  never wavered.  She was always a willing worker for the Lord and enjoyed sharing the word with whomever she came in contact with.  Gwen was known to send inspirational quotes daily that reached many hearts; Gwen was a believer in Sisters Helping Sisters.

Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Steven M. Godwin, her precious children, daughter Augusta Nicole and son Matthew Marquis; father, Larry Ingram, mother and step-father, Audrey and Ronald Leeper, paternal grandmother, Mrs. Annie B. Dumas, maternal grandmother, Mrs, Eula M. Alexander; siblings Demont Ingram, Tiffany Ingram, Zachary Leeper and Mackenzie Leeper, special sister, Sabrina Gordon; mother-in-law, Mrs. Brenda Godwin, brothers-in-law: Alexander and wife Monique, Christopher and wife Ayana, Marcus and wife Tara; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins nieces and nephews and dear friends.
