Mrs. Gladys Belinda Gamble Stanley 55 of Charlotte. passed away September 27, 2016 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House Huntersville, NC.

“THIS WORLD MIGHT TAKE MY BODY, BUT NOT MY SOUL,WHICH IS MY VERY ESSENCE.MY SOUL IS ALWAYS SAFE WITH GOD.’

Gladys was born in Salters, SC on Novemeber  23 ,1960 to Ethel Bradley Gamble and late Alex Gamble. At the age of 8 , she and her family relocated to Charlotte,NC.

As a child, she joined the St.Mary`s AME Zion Church. She also attended East Stonewall Memorial AME Zion Churches. She became a member the University Park Baptist Church (now known as the Park ) in the 1980`s and served in the Greeters` Ministry till her health declined.

Gladys was a 1979 graduate of West Charlotte High School and matriculated at North Carolina Central University and University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

On May 10 ,1986, Gladys married her high school sweetheart, James Ronald Stanley, whom she had dated since 10th grade as students at West Charlotte. They took many vacations, but she said their last one in May 2016 was the best one they had ever had.

They never had any children born tothem, but they were god parents to five children whom they truly adored. She was preceded in death by her father, Alex O. Gamble.

Leaving to cherish her precious memories are : J. Ronald Stanley of the home: her mother, Ethel Gamble, Charlotte; five brothers David; Clarence ( Linda); Maurice (Abbey); Cosom ( Veronie), all of Charlotte; and Delano ( Juanita) of Atlanta, GA.Her in-laws, Loretta Stanley and James F. Stanley, of Charlotte; two aunts, Modest Frazier and Janie Williams of Charlotte ; one uncle, Richard Bradley ( Mary), Charlotte. God children: Margie and Maury Gamble, Brittany and Dominique Montgomery and Brian Nesmith. Special friends ; Lori Conway Ray and Andrea Beatty Nesmith along with a host of other relatives and friends.
