I am remembering a very caring as well as kind soldier in the army of the Lord. Family may the Father hold you close and comfort you at this very difficult time. Praying your strength family as God’s servant rest on. I remember how it was such an honor to compose a poem for him as he became Bishop and said his farewells as Pastor to Greater Gethsemane AME Zion church family. Memories of his great accomplishments will be cherished.💜

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Bishop George Edward Battle, Jr. Having worked with him for 8 years in the North Eastern Episcopal District, I found him to be a true servant of God, one who was filled with compassion for others, especially young people. Bishop Battle was a long time trusted friend of mine. I was introduced to him by Ed Crutchfield of First Union, back in the day . I worked with him and his family for many years, and was so proud to call him a customer. He was always working hard for the kids of GEP and was a true champion. Iris, blessings to you and your family. Linda
