Service Announcements

Mr. Eugene  Boone of Charlotte, NC. passed May 23, 2016 in Gladstone, VA. Funeral service will be held saturday  May 28,2016 at Long & Son Chapel. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm and the service will follow at 2:30 pm interment will will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens.God in his way gave you to use to be our Father and you have given us the spirit of those who came before. The strength to conquer our mountains. Let us not mourn his going. Let us rejoice to know that his earthly labors are finished and he was prepared to go.
Eugene “Gene” Boone was born on May 2, 1953 in Lynchburg, South Carolina to the late Gertrude Moses Boone and Isaiah Boone. God dispatched an angel on May 23, 2016 to take him home.
“Gene” began his education process in Lee County Public Schools where he graduated from Mount Pleasant High School.
“Gene” received training at Automotive School, where he became a mechanic. He relocated to New York, where he remained a mechanic and got his CDL to drive 18-wheeler trucks. He was employed at Cowan Trucking Company.
“Gene” met and married Sharon Pearson Boone. To this union four children were born. In 1995, he met and married Barbara Jenkins Boone and to this union four children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, James Boone.
“Gene” leaves to cherish his memories: his wife to mourn his untimely departure, Barbara Jenkins Boone; his children, Veronica Boone, Lateasha Boone, Eugenia Boone, Eugene Boone, Jr, Vanessa Boone, Sade Boone, Crystal Boone, and Ravon Boone; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Martha Boone McClain; one brother, Danny Boone; a special cousin (brother) Herbert Nelson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins
