Mrs. Ethella Davidson Rorie, 83 of Charlotte,NC. passed away Tuesday, November 13,2018 at Novant Health Main Charlotte. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 19,2018 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church 1401 N. Allen St. Charlotte, NC 28205. Visitation will begin at 11:00  am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will in York Memorial Park 5150 S.Tryon St. Charlotte,NC 28217.

Mrs. Ethella Davidson Hill Rorie, daughter of the late Charles Curtis Davidson and Jessie Mae Neal Walker, was born on September 14, 1935 in Charlotte, NC. She graduated from Second Ward High School where she was very active as a majorette, member of the school choir, and athlete on the track team. She was married to the late Albert Hill, then the late Roosevelt Rorie. She leaves to mourn one son, Michael Oliver Hill.

 

Ethella was a loving, caring, and supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her unconditional love for her family was recognized by all. Ethella possessed a very warm and friendly personality. She never seemed to meet a stranger and was known for her giving, sharing spirit.

 

Ethella accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at the age of 17 and held a lifetime membership at St. Paul Baptist Church. She was baptized by Reverend P. M. Mayfield. Ethella was a member of the children’s choir and the spiritual choir under the direction of Mrs. Annie Rose Pool. She was also a member of the mass choir and gospel choir under the direction of Mr. George Dunlap.

 

Loving memories of Ethella will always be with her beloved son Michael Oliver Hill, her three grandsons, Enorico Wells, Michael Wells, and Duane Hill, her two granddaughters Michelle Agyepong and Cynthia Hill, her seven great-grandchildren, a host of relatives, and amazing friends.
