Mrs. Elosie Wallace Hicks, 83 of Charlotte, NC. passed away Tuesday September 26,2017 at Novant Health Main Charlotte, NC. Funeral service will be held Saturday September 30, 2017 at Rockwell AME Zion Church 6101 Rockwell Church Rd. Charlotte, NC 28269. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm and the service will follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will take in the church cemetery.

Eloise Wallace Hicks was born February 10, 1934 and departed this life on September 26, 2017.  She was the daughter of the late Robert Morrow and Macie Massey Wallace and Everett Wallace Sr., her adopted father and Susie Morrow her second mother.

She was a lifelong member of Rockwell AME Zion Church. Ms. Hicks was a graduate of Huntersville Class of 1951. She also graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in 1954 and retired from the Charlotte Rehabilitation Hospital in 1994. She was dedicated in caring for her patients and working in the church with the Nurses Guild.

She was preceded in death by her brother Clarence M Morrow, sisters Elizabeth Torrence, Marceletta Christian, and Pearie Forster. She leave to cherish with fond memories one daughter Jacqueline (Charlie) Franklin of Matthews, NC and two sons Walker Hicks and Reginald Hicks both of Charlotte, NC.

She also leaves one brother Everett Wallace, Jr. of Pamplico, SC; three sisters Gwendolyn (Robert) Mitchell of Washington D.C., Frances Diggs of Charlotte, NC, Iris Simpson of New Jersey; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grands; special sister and friend Paula Pharr; god-daughter and god-son Pamela and Rev. Oliver Banks; special niece Aqunietta (Nita) White; nephew Graylon Wallace; special friends Carolyn Caldwell and Ida McCauley; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
