Mrs.Earlene Deborah Cunningham Davis 82, of Charlotte, NC passed away Tuesday, January 19,2021 at Atrium Health Pineville. A walk through viewing will beheld Monday , January 25,2021 at Long & Son Mortuary 2:00 pm-4:00pm. Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, January 26,2021 at 12:00 pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery West 4601 Freedom Dr. Charlotte, NC 28214.
Obituary
Mrs. Earlene “Sister” Deborah Cunningham Davis was born on July 13,1938 in Lancaster, South Carolina. She was the youngest child of 10 children born to the late Seth and Hester B. Cunningham. She departed this life on January 19, 2021 in Pineville, North Carolina.
Earlene was educated in the public schools of Lancaster, South Carolina and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1956. She moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where she later pursued a career at Delmar Studio/Herff Jones as a Lab Technician. She was very passionate and devoted to her work for over 35 years. During this time, she made many friendships.
Earlene accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young ageand she attended St. Paul Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina for many years.
Earlene was a loving and devoted mother. She loved her family and was friendly to everyone. She was very outgoing and loved to saythings to make you smile and was always willing to help others. Earlene loved softball and bowling and was privileged to be on aBowling League as well as a Softball Team for several years.
Earlene was preceded in death by 9 of her siblings, Edna C. Funderburke, Corine Tillman, Samuel L. Cunningham, Eurah Lee Simpson, Elliot J. Cunningham, Stella C. Gormley, Argie Ruth Knotts, Seth B Cunningham, Hugh Oliver Cunningham.
She leaves to cherish warm and loving memories 3 sons, Anthony Davis Sr., Dane Davis, Donovan Davis all of Charlotte, NC and 2daughters, Cheryl Crawford (BT) of Fort Mill, SC and Veronica Davis of Charlotte, NC; 6 grandchildren, Marquette Douglas, Gregory Douglas, Jeremy Greene, Anthony Davis Jr., Franchestia Davis and Fernandez Davis; 14 Great Grandchildren, Kenaizie Ingram, Cheniyah Douglas, Zion Douglas, Yazmen Douglas, Deontre Johnson, Kemiya Brown, Emani Brown, Taymia Sanders, Kymani Douglas, Bryanna Douglas Laila Douglas, Aaliyah Douglas, Tyson Greene, and Ryan Greene; 7 Nephews and 13 nieces with 3 special nieces, Alfreda Robinson (Joe) Carol Davis and Rena Mae Thompson and many other relatives and friends that she loved so dearly.
