Mrs. Doris Jean Grier Sanders of Charlotte. passed away January 19,2017 at her residence. Funeral service will be held Tuesday January 24, 2017 at The Park Church 6029 Beatties Ford Rd. Charlotte, NC 28216. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the service will follow at 11:00 am interment will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens
Mrs. Doris J. Sanders, daughter of the late George and Janie Houser
Grier was born May 1st, 1929 in Mecklenburg County and peacefully
departed this life Thursday, January 19, 2017 at home.
She joined University Park Baptist Church where she served as a
Sunday School teacher, on the Chance Choir, as a Missionary and a
Deaconess.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons: Byron Sanders of the home
and Timothy Sanders of Winston Salem; step children: Gail Simmons of
Ney York, Neal Sanders Jr. of Charlotte, Charles Stanley of Atlanta;
two brothers: James Grier of Charlotte and John Grier of Lake in the
Hills, Illinois; eleven grandchildren and a host of great-grands,
nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
