Mr. Charles Jackson Jr was born January 25, 1943 to the late Mr. Charles Jackson and Mrs. Rena Pearson Jackson. in Manning, SC.

On Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the home he departed this earthly life.

He received his formal education in the public school of Clarendon County. At an early age he accepted Christ as his Savior. He was active in the Civil Rights Movement. While living in New York he worked at the World Trade Center and Brooklyn Navy Yard. Shortly after relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina he joined Greater Providence Baptist Church, which he attended faithfully until his passing.

Charles leaves to cherish in his memory: his wife of 52 years, Hattie Mae Blackwell Jackson and one daughter Patricia Ann “Snook” Jackson

He also leaves four brothers, David Jackson of Brooklyn, NY, William Jackson of Charleston, SC, Paul Jackson of Charleston, SC, Michael Jackson of Matthews, NC, one sister, Cleo Jackson Abernathy of Charleston, SC; Special cousin, James Johnson (San Francisco, CA), Enoch McKinney (Jersey City, NJ) and Maurice McKinney (Philadelphia, PA); Four brother-in-law, Leroy (Ersie) Blackwell of Brooklyn, NY, James (Zenobia) Blackwell of Columbia, SC, Onna Blackwell Jr and Earl Blackwell both from Brooklyn, NY; Three sister-in-law, Sallie Blackwell Porter, Dorothy Blackwell Edmundson and Shirley Blackwell all of Brooklyn, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sympathizing friends.

He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Mrs. Lu Charlotte McKinney Jackson, step mother Mrs. Elouise Kelly Jackson and sibling Roger Mae, Lanell, Bobby Lee, Silas, Abraham Jackson, cousin Eugene McKinney, and sister-in-law Ramona Blackwell.

Special thanks to Grace Hutchinson Lafleur (RN), Audrey Ross (CNA II), Mary Wennen (Social Worker) and Gary Revels (Chaplin) of Novant Health Hospice Supportive Care. Funeral service will be held Friday October 28,2016 at Greater Providence Baptist Church 2000 Milton Rd. Charlotte, NC 28215. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
