Service Announcements

Benjamin Franklin Lee of Charlotte, NC went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 13, 2017. Ben was preceded in death by his Daughter Beverly Lee.

He was born on September 9, 1937 to the late Rev. William Sr. and Gertrude Lee.

Ben worked for Truck Transfer Service Inc. for 23 years. He managed and transported the local drivers around the southeast.  The drivers knew they could count on him whether it was for a laugh, help or a loan.

As a young man, he was a Golden Glove Boxer as well as helped coach a little league baseball team.  Everyone he encountered left with a smile in their heart.

Mr. Lee is survived by his sister Lillie L. Stitt of Brooklyn, NY; brother Daniel Lee of Charlotte, NC; Preceded in death by his loving brother the late Dr. William Lee Jr. of Charlotte, NC.

Nieces Cynthia Diane Stitt of Somerset, NJ; Brenda Ratliff of Charlotte, NC and Laura Lee of Charlotte, NC

Nephews Phillip Stitt (Pamela) of Charlotte, NC; Joey Lee (Doreen) of Charlotte, NC; Eric Lee of Charlotte, NC; Terry Le (Sherrie) of Charlotte, NC; and Dr. Lincoln Lee

Preceded in death by his loving nephew Dwayne Lee of Charlotte, NC; Timothy Lee of Charlotte, NC;

A very Special friend Carolyn Griffin and extended family Conda Jones (Dewey), Tana Gerrity (William), Melissa Addis(Corey) as well as a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Long & Son Mortuary Service, 2312 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. Followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Lincoln C. Lee officiating. Interment will follow at York Memorial Park, 5150 South Tyron Street, Charlotte, NC. 28217
