Annie Pearl Jones, known to family as Annie Pearl and to others Ms. Annie–

Annie Pearl Jones, 77 of Charlotte NC, departed this life on June 11, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Waynesboro Ga on December 23rd, 1939.  Annie Pearl was educated in the Burke County Public School System.

On April 16, 1960, Annie Pearl married Robert Cleveland Jones. Within that same year, Annie Pearl relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Fla with her loving husband, Robert and their first born, where she was employed by the Dorsey House as a domestic work with her mother in–law Cleo Jones from 1960 to 1968.

In 1969 Annie Pearl relocated to Jersey City, NJ with her husband Robert, and five children where she gained employment with the University of Medicine and Dentistry (formerly known as Martland Hospital) as a clerk typist in the Business office in Newark, NJ.

In 1974 Annie Pearl moved to Linden, NJ with her husband Robert; so that their children could get a better education and a better quality of life. In truly knowing Annie Pearl, it was all about family nothing came before that.  Yes she was a great mother to her children but a mother, sister, and aunt to her Goodwin, Jones, Jenkins, and Wesley family members.

Annie Pearl retired in 1997 from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey after 30 years of service as a Medical Transcriber. Within the same year, Robert and his wife Annie Pearl relocated to their retirement home which her husband Robert built from the ground up to her specification.  Annie Pearl was a faithful member of Greater Providence Baptist Church in Charlotte NC.

Predeceased in death by her beloved husband Robert Cleveland, her parents, Robert and Annie Willie Goodwin, brothers; Robert Jr and Leonard Goodwin and her sisters Margaret Goodwin Hinzey and Richardean Goodwin Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories her four daughters, Ann Denise Jones of Trenton, NJ; Cassandra Bonita Hughes of Charlotte, NC; Cleo Jeanette Jones of Miami,  Fla; and Robbin Lynette Jones-Jeffries  of Charlotte, NC; in addition, one son, Robert Bernard Jones (wife Kara) of Harrisburg, NC;  four sisters Irene Bridges, Ruby Griffin, Lula Goodwin and Queen Glover (Hubert) ; three brothers Henry, Johnny C. and Louis Goodwin, twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Momma,

It’s not fair that you left,

But God knew was time and he called you home,

You went so fast, that’s what hurts the most.

We miss you Momma,

The unconditionally love and compassion you showed us,

Will be in our hearts and minds at all times,

There will never be another Momma like you

Crying will not ease our pain,

But we will rejoice on the memories we have,

You taught us so much,

You were our rock,

You were our everythang,

Our world will never be the same without you,

So, many hearts are broken,

We know if you were here, you would ease our pain,

We know you are watching over us, with God’s many angels

Although, you are in Heaven we know u won’t forget us,

And it goes without saying we will never forget you,

There will be a brighter day

And we will be waiting on it,

But there’s one thing will always bother us,

We didn’t get to say Goodbye

In closing, the family is truly thankful for the many calls and visits over the past few months.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept my faith.”  – 2 Timothy: 7

Annie Pearl as well as the family was very thankful and appreciative for all the love and compassion they have received.
