I remember when I met this young man. I had heard so much about him from his mom. Never any intimate details, but you could hear and feel the love this mother had for her only son. She always smiled when she said his name. Always laughed when she told a story involving him and it was clear he brought her joy. When Rashaan walked in the room the first time I saw him, you could see that he felt the same way about her. He was quiet, but his eyes told the story of a man who cherished his mom. Sometimes it’s the words never said but definitely felt that express the greatest sentiment. He lived a life filled with immense love from his mother and the rest of his family. It is an experience that not a lot of people get to know, but he has gone on to walk with the Lord now. Having had a life filled with love from his family, I believe he is at peace. As we should find peace in knowing that he is with our Holy Father. Sleep in peace Rashaan.
