Mr. Aasim Abdul-Shahid Johnson, II. 25 of Matthews, NC. Passed away June 20,2018 at Novant Health -Matthews. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June, 30, 2018 at Johnson C. Smith University Jane M. Smith Memorial Chapel 100 Beatties Ford Rd. Charlotte, NC 28216. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm and the service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens Charlotte,NC.

Aasim Abdul-Shahid Johnson II son of Tyra M. Richardson and Shannon E. Johnson was born October 09, 1992 in Rochester, NY. Aasim went home to be with the Lord June 20th, 2018.

Aasim received his early education in Rochester, NY and Charlotte, NC. Aasim attended Johnson C Smith University where he obtained his Bachelor Degree in Accounting May, 2014 in Charlotte, NC.

At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ and became a member at Goodwill Ministries, Rochester, NY.

After completing his education Aasim worked at Fed Ex, United States Postal Services, Charlotte Hornets at The

Spectrum Arena and American Tire Distributors. He was a dedicated young man and loved working with people.

Aasim was a great athlete and very competitive. He enjoyed playing Basketball, Kickball, Football and video games in his spare time.

Aasim had a love for FAMILY even those who were not of relations. Recently he fell in love with Ace Johnson his best friend, his baby, his dog!

Aasim was preceded in death by his Grandfather Jasper C Lewis Jr

Aasim leaves to cherish his memories his Mother, Tyra (Herbert) Richardson of Charlotte NC; Father, Shannon E Johnson, of Rochester NY; Brothers, Shameir A. Johnson of Charlotte NC; Sharif A. Heath of Rochester NY; Grandparents, Bertha M Lewis of Matthews, NC; Henrietta (Ivor) Rollock of Rochester, NY; Eugene Johnson of Avon, NY with many loving and devoted aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
